Holding on to grudges, resentments, wrongs and wounds, is often described as drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. We are told to forgive the other so we can free ourselves—which sounds so simple until you try to do the actual forgiving. Why? Because, if you’re anything like me, no one ever taught you how to forgive.
The purpose of the workshop is to help you learn how to forgive.
The purpose of the ritual is to do the forgiving.
Whether it’s a petty slight or something reprehensible and seemingly unforgivable, forgiveness is a skill you can learn. And just like any skill, the more you practice, the better you get at forgiving. Many of us do this ritual annually at the Fall Equinox as a kind of annual maintenance meditation to clear and balance our spirit.
During the first two hours of the workshop I will teach you the skills you need to forgive—both yourself and others—so you can be free to move forward unburdened by the past. We will also take time to prepare your body, mind, and heart, to be willing to forgive.
During the last hour we will do the Ritual of Forgiveness as taught to me by my Guru. It’s a beautiful meditative process that works on many levels to forgive and release those who have wronged you—and most importantly—forgive yourself.
The ritual can sometimes leave you feeling a bit raw, so plan to give yourself some quiet time afterwards. As you allow the process to work its magic you will feel yourself unburdened—light as a feather. Free.
