2019 Workshop Series
Managing Intense Emotions
Learning how to manage intense emotions is a vital life skill that meditators naturally develop over time.
As a meditator, you have access to a rich tradition of methods for working with the thoughts, feelings and physical sensations that arise with intense emotions. Although there are many difficult emotions, they are traditionally grouped into these four main categories:
- Shame
- Fear
- Anger
- Grief/Sadness.
This series of workshops will focus on specific techniques for each of these emotions to help you stop:
- Stuffing and suppressing,
- Wallowing, drowning or becoming paralyzed,
- Raging and losing your sh*t,
You will learn:
- How to identify exactly what you are experiencing,
- Techniques to help you neutralize and heal that emotion,
- What to do instead to help you break the habit of the emotion,
- How to transform that specific emotion into a deep place of calm, equanimity, joy, acceptance, happiness and contentment.
