You may think that Samadhi, and Enlightenment, are only for full time yogis, monks, or people like the Dalai Lama. You would be wrong. My guru, Goswami Kriyananda, taught that you can experience Enlightenment in this very lifetime! Imagine that… this very lifetime!

He taught us that enlightenment, if anything, is a lightness of your heart, which makes you aware that you are just a little happier, a little wiser, and a little calmer than you were a short while ago.

This retreat is your chance to:

  • Get away from your everyday responsibilities and distractions,
  • Give yourself uninterrupted time to learn and practice,
  • Prepare yourself to recognize, and experience, a moment of Samadhi.

Why would you want to take advantage of this opportunity to taste Samadhi? Because Samadhi burns away, softens, and neutralizes, your heavy karma—we’ll go into that at more depth during the retreat. AND, because the technique of Samadhi is what brings you to Enlightenment. What brings you to Samadhi? The primary technique, Hong-Sau—which you’ve been practicing for years. Here’s how your years of practice all come together in this retreat. You will:

  • Go deeper into the nuances of Hong-Sau,
  • Learn about the stages of Samadhi and how it softens your Karma,
  • Practice the three main techniques that lead to Samadhi,
  • Learn how to recognize Samadhi, and your moments of Enlightenment.

You may think you will recognize it on your own. But, believe it or not, I didn’t. Turns out it’s pretty easy to let it slip by. It wasn’t till someone pointed out what I was experiencing, and my guru affirmed it, that I realized what was going on. That realization changed me. Let’s make sure your moment won’t pass you by!

If you’ve never attended a retreat before, let me assure you we are a friendly, easy going group that is also introvert friendly. Meditation isn’t exactly an extroverted activity, after all! It’s important to us that you are comfortable so we have lots of seating options for different body needs. You will have time for silence and reflection, relaxation and meditation, teaching and laughter, connection and discussion, yoga and music—with lots of breaks to enjoy chocolate, snacks, and the beautiful outdoors.

Our retreats are about healing ourselves. No blame. No shame. No victims. No apologies. They are about learning to:

  • see ourselves through the eyes of compassion, understanding and love.
  • accept the reality of our imperfect lives with humor and wisdom.
  • experience the beauty within you.

But most of all, there will be the experience of deep connection with your Self and with other seekers in a safe non-judgmental, nurturing space where you will be appreciated and valued just as you are.

*As you were probably expecting, prices at Alton Collins have increased, and we have had to adapt our pricing accordingly. We’ve kept our new price as low as possible to enable as many of you to attend as possible.

Cancellation Policy

We know ‘stuff’ happens so here’s our cancellation policy.

  • Cancel before January 1, receive a full refund.
  • Cancel between January 1 and Feb 1, receive a 70% refund.
  • Cancel between February 1 and March 15, receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds after March 15.

If we have to cancel for Covid, weather or any other reason, you will receive a full refund.


Dana

We do everything we can to keep the price of our retreats affordable. To this end we price retreats to reflect our direct costs without any additional cost for Caren’s time and teaching. At the close of the retreat you will have the opportunity to give Dana—a donation/love offering—directly to Caren for the teachings you received during the retreat.
